Check which app version you have

To find release note relevant for you, you should know your app’s version. Here you can learn how to verify the version of your app.

Linchpin Mobile (Device app)

First of all, make sure that you are logged in.

Click on the More button. Then, click on the About this app button. Finally, click on the Version information button.

Linchpin Mobile (Confluence app)

Navigate to Confluence administration → Manage Apps. Search for Linchpin Mobile Plugin.

Your current version is displayed in the middle of the footer.

Release 6.0

  • Finally, this app is compatible with Confluence 10.x. Please note: If you are on Confluence 10.0 or higher, you’ll need to use this app’s version 6.0 or higher. If you are still on Confluence 9.x or lower, please stay on this app’s version 5.x, you can’t upgrade to 6.x. We will continue to provide important security patches and bug fixes for both versions. New features we will develop for Confluence 10 and up. If technically possible, we’ll also provide them for Confluence 9.x.

Summary

From now on you can easily access PDF files included in pages or blogposts via Confluence’s PDF macro when on the go.

  • PDF Macro: Linchpin Mobile now supports the Confluence PDF macro by providing a download link for PDF files embedded in pages and news articles. Simply tap the link to open the PDF file on your mobile device.

Bugfixes:

  • Fixed an issue that caused some users’ profile pictures to not be fully displayed.
  • Fixed various bugs when displaying some Confluence macros in the mobile app.

Summary

From now on you can easily check which events you are signed up for when you are on the go. In addition, the “Expand” macro is now supported in the app.

  • My Events: Visit the events section in the app to get an overview of the events you’ve signed up for in the near future.
  • ‘Expand’ macro: Tap on an expandable text area to show or hide additional information about a piece of content within pages and news articles.

  • Fixed an issue where the progress bar for file downloads was not displayed correctly in some cases.

Release 4.3.0

Summary

This version is all about inline comments: There’s a completely new section in pages and news articles to display this type of comment, you can post a reply to it even easier, and completed inline comments will be hidden in the app from now on.

Also, administrators can now view the status for mobile connections of a user, there is a new backend check for basic authentication, and we have massively improved stability and reliability of mobile connections via the Linchpin Mobile Gateway in data center environments with 1+ nodes.

  • Reworked inline comments (iOS & Android app): On pages and news articles, there is now a button in the comments section that leads to the new view for inline comments, if such comments are available for the content being viewed. In the new inline comments view, you can view each comment and its replies individually and in an organized way. You can post your own reply directly from the new inline comments view.
  • Reworked inline comments (Confluence backend): A new interface has been added for improved retrieval of inline comments via the mobile app. This now makes it possible to retrieve inline comments independently of regular page comments, read hierarchies within the comment structure, and filter completed inline comments.
  • Display mobile connection status: There is now the possibility to view the status for mobile connections of a user in the administration area of Linchpin Mobile. We have summarized more information at https://seibert.biz/linchpinmobileconnectionsettingsdoc.

Improvements:

  • Basic authentication check: It is now automatically checked if Basic Authentication is enabled for an instance on which Linchpin Mobile is used.   • Fail-safe Gateway connection in Data Center environments: When using Linchpin Mobile in a data center environment with multiple nodes, if the connection to the Linchpin Mobile gateway is enabled, another node will automatically be connected should the node currently connected to the gateway fail.   • Aura macro rendering: Macros of the Confluence app Aura – Beautiful Formatting Macros are now displayed in a mobile optimized representation.

Bugfixes:

  • Fixed a rare bug where push notifications were sent even though they were disabled on the system side by the administration.

Release 4.2.0

Summary

With this version, administrators are given further options for managing login QR codes for users who want to connect to a Linchpin intranet via the Linchpin Mobile Gateway. From now on, it is possible to extend the validity period of login codes as desired via the administration area. In addition, the reliability and stability of the administration area has been improved.

  • Configurable login code validity: Confluence administrators can now define how long QR codes are valid for login via the Linchpin Mobile Gateway. The default duration is 24 hours, but administrators can generate login codes for other users with different validity. Summary

With this release, you can now play audio and video files on the go. We’ve also optimized some views for use on tablet devices. Also, we are preparing fundamental changes regarding the technical basis for sending mobile push notifications, which we will complete with a release of our mobile apps for iOS and Android later this year.

Release 4.0.0

Summary

With this app version, you can finally discover events while on the go and sign up easily. In addition, we redesigned the microblog for you: Pictures, galleries, videos, file attachments, shared pages and events now provide improved interactions and look even better. Also, we integrated health checks for the Linchpin Mobile Gateway and Java Keystore. Last but not least, we have fixed some bugs and optimized the overall app performance.

  • Mobile Event hub: Discover exciting events, check all important information and sign up for events directly via the app.
  • Confluence health checks: We integrated new health checks for the Linchpin Mobile Gateway and integrity of Java Keystore to support system administrators with inspecting connection issues.

Improvements:

  • Microblog: Images, galleries, videos, file attachments, shared pages and events have been completely revised. Access file attachments from the microblog, view multiple images in the new galleries, and sign up directly for events.
  • Event macros: You can now register for events, which are integrated into pages and news articles, directly from the app and access all event details.
  • Comments: We have improved the loading behavior of comments to news articles and pages. We also fixed a bug that allowed a maximum of 100 comments to be displayed.
  • Debug logging: We added new log events in order to improve maintainability.

Bugfixes:

  • Fixed a bug that caused the app to crash immediately after startup when FaceID was enabled.
  • Fixed a bug where microblog posts always showed the timestamp of the last reply instead of the original creation date.
  • Fixed a bug that caused an empty result list when searching for “&” and other special characters.

In case you are using Linchpin Mobile with a custom set of Linchpin apps you need to meet the following requirements for the corresponding sections within Linchpin Mobile:

  • News: This release of Linchpin Mobile requires the Confluence app ‘Linchpin Enterprise News‘ version 2.9.0 or later.
  • Microblog: This release of Linchpin Mobile requires the Confluence app ‘Microblogging for Confluence‘ version 6.0.0 or later.
  • Contacts: This release of Linchpin Mobile requires the Confluence app ‘Linchpin User Profiles‘ version 2.22.0 or later.
  • Terms of Use: This release of Linchpin Mobile requires Confluence app ‘Terms of Use‘ version 1.7.0 or later.
  • Linchpin Theme: This release of Linchpin Mobile requires Confluence app ‘Linchpin Theme Plugin‘ version 2.17.2 or later in order to properly display Linchpin Teaser and Layout Box macros.
  • Linchpin Events: This release of Linchpin Mobile requires Confluence app ‘Linchpin Events‘ version 3.4.0 or later.
  • Linchpin Launchpad: This release of Linchpin Mobile requires Confluence app ‘Linchpin Launchpad‘ version 2.2.0 or later in order to properly display App macros.
