Linchpin Essentials 2.8

Welcome to Linchpin Essentials 2.8!

First of all: We’ve ensured the compatibility with Confluence 8.6 with this release.

Linchpin User Profiles: The macro People Search & List now features an expert mode to select People via CQL statements. Furthermore, you can now insert a birthday list for today or this week using the People Search & List macro!

And of course this release also brings a lot of other improvements and bugfixes.

  • The macro “My Contacts” refused to filter properly when configured with groups to filter. It now does.
  • When selecting users by group in the People Search & List macro, we now correctly show all chosen profile fields.
  • We fixed a small UI issue in the configuration mask of the People Search & List macro.
  • The macro “Content Responsibility” wasn’t clickable when no addition information was selected. It now is.
  • We fixed a broken rendering when exporting the People Search & List macro to PDF.

  • 2.8.2 We ensured compatibility with the app Space Privacy when using the People Search & List macro. Please be sure to use Space Privacy version 3.7.2 or higher for this to work.
  • 2.8.2 We fixed a bug that made it impossible to configure the People Search & List macro to only show the name and contact columns.
  • 2.8.2 When searching for people by date, it could happen that wrong users were shown around the end of a year. This has been fixed.
  • 2.8.2 While editing a profile or configuring the profile contents, category names were not translated. They are now.
  • 2.8.3 Using options beginning with # in multi select profile fields didn’t work. It does now.

  • 2.8.6 The HTTP header for xml import from web servers did not request for xml responses. We fixed it.
  • 2.8.6 In some cases the macro People Search & List showed a different version of the profile picture than other macros. This has been fixed.
  • 2.8.6 We fixed a bug that made the preview of the People Search & List macro not work when using the expert mode.
  • 2.8.6 When using a CQL statement in the People Search & List macro’s expert mode, an “order by” was ignored. It does work now as expected.
  • 2.8.6 The list view of the People Search & List macro was broken when used in combination with Refined Theme. This has been fixed.

  • 2.8.4 We ensured Linchpin User Profiles is compatible with Confluence 8.8.

Bugfixes

  • With Confluence 8.x the link “View more recently visited” in the Confluence quicksearch reloaded the page instead of opening the Linchpin Sidebar. Now it works correctly.
  • With Confluence 8.x the Linchpin Sidebar didn’t show all entries for “Saved for later”. It now does.
  • We fixed a bug that prevented news tiles in Cover Stories and News Hub to show configured text colors properly.
  • We fixed an incompatibility that could prevent the Linchpin Theme plugin from being enabled when installing in Confluence 8.5 or later.

  • 2.8.1 The latest Confluence security fix releases (see https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONFSERVER-93502) broke every app that has Velocity macros in `.vm.html` files. We renamed all affected template files to `.vm`.
  • 2.8.3 With Confluence 8.5.5 the “saved for later” overview in the sidebar broke. We made it work again.
  • 2.8.3 We fixed a bug that prevented direct links to documents / attachments in a Linchpin Teaser.
  • 2.8.6 When using an “Expand” macro within a Linchpin Teaser, text wouldn’t be wrapped properly and broke the layout. This has been fixed.
