Complete changelog

Here is a complete overview of all the changes, features, improvements and bugfixes we are releasing now with our Linchpin Intranet Suite 5.6.:

New Features

• We extended the footer configuration, you can now add a custom rich text footer column, change the order of the columns and show and hide any existing column including the default columns.
• Linchpin Teaser macros can now have fixed height and width for all three teaser variants.
• Linchpin Teaser macros can now use anchor links.
• Links from Linchpin Teaser macros will now be registered as incoming links on the targeted pages.
• For events you can now define a registration deadline.
• All events now bring css classes for every event category they belong to. Using Custom CSS, you can style the events specific to categories, e.g. color code them to your liking.
• Event organizers now have the option to receive a notification about sign ups and sign outs of participants regarding their events.
• The event hub now offers a calendar view option.
• When exporting the participant list of timeslot events, the chosen timeslot for each participant is part of the export.
• News Digest emails now contain not only the site’s logo, but also its header background image.

Improvements

• We ensured that Linchpin Suite is compatible with Confluence 8.2
• We changed the user interface to be gender neutral in the German version in all of our apps.
• We improved the display of the profile macro for the case when the column it’s in is not wide enough. Information won’t be cut off anymore in this case.
• We stabilized updates from older Linchpin User Profiles versions.
• We don’t index linked text fields anymore because this information is redundant and updating such fields caused performance impacts in large instances.
• We improved the usability when managing participants.
• We improved loading times for events.
• The search box on the Launchpad now searches in all information related to an app, not only the title.
• Notifications about new apps now lead to the actual overview of new apps instead of the overview of all apps.
• We improved image quality for uploaded images.
• The language selection dropdown on pages and blog posts is now independent from the title, so each one can be hidden by custom css individually.
• 5.6.1 Linchpin User Profiles: We improved the performance when a select field option update affected many users.
• 5.6.1 Linchpin User Profiles: Users with spaces in their usernames can now edit their profiles. Please note that usernames containing spaces are not recommended and can only be created in Confluence by importing users from a directory.
• 5.6.1 Linchpin User Profiles: We improved compatibility with assistive technologies.
• 5.6.1 Linchpin Theme: Enable basic Layout Box macro preview (nested macros can’t be previewed).
• 5.6.1 Linchpin Theme: Improved screen reader compatibility for the footer by removing empty links instead of rendering broken links.
• 5.6.1 Linchpin Theme: Improved compatibility of Linchpin Theme with Aura Cards by not overwriting Aura card title colors anymore.
• 5.6.1 Linchpin Enterprise News: When a new workflow space is created (by scheduling or submitting a news in a space for the first time), a current space admin of the original space is set as creator of the workflow space, not the creator of the original space. This prevents potential permission issues.
• 5.6.1 Linchpin Enterprise News: We improved screenreader compatibility.
• 5.6.1 Microblog: We improved screenreader compatibility in the Microblog editor.
• 5.6.1 Microblog: We improved compatibility with Navitabs (bitvoodoo).

Bugfixes

• We fixed some potential Confluence 8 compatibility issues.
• We added an info message concerning LDAP filled profile fields back in that got lost some versions back.
• We solved a problem that arose from user info being imported from different directories, which sometimes made profile fields editable that shouldn’t have been.
• When a screen is too small and the menu consists of two lines instead of one, the second one lost its color. This is fixed now.
• The preview of a Linchpin Teaser macro is displaying the correct background color now.
• We added unique ids to links in the intranet tools section.
• We fixed a display issue for events that have a lot of timeslots.
• We added a missing image in email notifications back in.
• We fixed an issue in the Linchpin Sidebar that didn’t show some contents on Confluence 8.
• 5.6.1 Linchpin User Profiles: In the administration area, we stopped the help box from moving into the next line.
• 5.6.1 Linchpin User Profiles: We fixed a JS error that could occur when opening the Customized User List macro configuration. The problem only existed if a third-party app uses the JavaScript library Lodash incorrectly.
• 5.6.1 Linchpin Theme: Fixed image display when using Linchpin Teaser macros inside section/column macros.
• 5.6.1 Linchpin Theme: Don’t ignore Confluence Custom HTML “at the end of the body” anymore.
• 5.6.1 Linchpin Theme: Remove unnecessary scroll bars when nesting Layout Box macros.
• 5.6.1 Linchpin Theme: Fix footer position on pages with little content.

• 5.6.1 Linchpin Events: We fixed an issue that occurred when K15t’s “Scroll Documents” was used in parallel.
• 5.6.1 Linchpin Events: We fixed some usability problems when using date pickers in the Event Hub.
• 5.6.1 Linchpin Enterprise News: Kicker and lead paragraph of news were not positioned correctly in the preview. This has been fixed.
• 5.6.1 Linchpin Translations: The maintenance/support action was broken.
• 5.6.1 Linchpin Translations: Adding comments for translations works again
