Linchpin Intranet Suite 5.9
Summary & Highlights
Welcome to Linchpin Intranet Suite 5.9!
First of all, the Suite itself: We’ve ensured the compatibility with Confluence 8.7 with this release.
Linchpin Enterprise News
There’s a new layout in town for Cover Stories: 3 tiles in a row! Additionally, Linchpin now offers a language filter for the News Hub. Important: Make sure your installed version of the Language Manager plugin is at least version 2.6.3!
Linchpin Mobile
The new allowlist/blocklist feature lets you introduce certain labels to pages to explicitly show or hide pages on mobile devices. Moreover, you can now customize the “More” menu by adding several new links (either internal or external ones), group and even stylize them. Now, you can open links to intranet content directly in the mobile app instead of in a browser. You can also delete your own comments on pages and news posts.
If you’re using the help text / tooltips for profile fields, you will be happy to hear that said help text can be viewed in the Linchpin Mobile app now, too – and to make reading profiles via mobile even easier, we cleaned up a bit and made sure that profile field names and the actual values are placed under each other instead of next to each other.
Of course, we’ve also worked on bringing you some quick wins, improvements and bug fixes with this update.
Make sure to check out the full release notes!
Linchpin User Profiles
Improvements
- In the past, a regular Confluence search that had users as a result randomly showed some of their profile data in the search results. We changed this. Now, the Confluence search will display only those fields that have been configured to be displayed in a profile header as well. Looks much cleaner that way. 🙂
Bugfixes
- Profile fields tended to break when switching from the field type ‘Cascading Multi Select’ to a regular ‘Multi Select’ field type. We fixed this.
- We fixed a bug that caused issues when using Language Manager dropdown fields.

- 5.9.2 – We added a missing error flag when configuring and testing LDAP connections.

Linchpin Events
Bugfixes
- In some cases participants who signed out of a recurring event were spammed with mail notifications. This has been reduced to one notification.
- The combination of recurring events and notifications about signups for the event creator led to a bug in notification mails. This has been fixed.
- We fixed the “copy link” functionality that was broken in the last release.
- 5.9.2 – The “Sign me up” Buttons showed a faulty behavior in certain circumstances, which we fixed.
- 5.9.2 – Sometimes the timeslot functionality was available when it shouldn’t have been. We fixed this.
